Responsabilidades

• To produce transgenic events in sugar cane, energy cane and sorghum for the development of commercial products.
• Responsible to the pipeline for production, selection, and testing of transgenic events from greenhouse through field for the target crops and traits of interest.
• Responsible for the supervision of scientists in the areas of biochemical analytics, plant physiology, and plant phenotyping.
• To ensure the team performs good experimental design practices and develops and implements biochemical analysis of transgenic plants, and coordination of activities with external partners.

Requisitos

• QUALIFICAÇÕES MÍNIMAS
  • Ph.D in Molecular Biology, Plant Biotechnology, Genetics, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in the industry.
  • Leadership experience managing teams of scientists in the relevant areas of expertise described above.
  • Fluent English (written and verbal communication skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Strong experience in vector design, gene expression analysis, and molecular assay development, including high-throughput assay platforms.
  • Availability to work in person in Ribeirão Preto/SP, Brazil.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic research environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with a proactive attitude and external mindset for continuous improvement and scientific curiosity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in cross-functional teams.
• QUALIFICAÇÕES PREFERENCIAIS
  • Experience leading the development of agricultural biotechnology products.
  • Experience in with the development of output traits.
  • Experience in genetic transformation and tissue culture of sugarcane, energy cane, and sorghum.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory science and regulatory processes in different regions.
