Descrição
- Conduct soy and corn research trials according to established procedures and adapt new procedures when necessary.
- Plan new trials/research with research manager support.
- Responsible for activities such as planning, planting, leaf sampling, data collection, harvest, seed movement, data quality validation and data analysis.
- Perform statistical analysis for field and molecular data.
- Assist breeders in genomic related tools and analysis for breeding selection and optimization.
- Participate and coordinate meetings and projects in English language.
- Perform field assessments for soy and corn.
- Select, hire, designate tasks, instruct, coach and supervise part time and full-time employees.
- Help controlling operational expenses within budget.
- Keep seed inventories updated.
- Supervise assigned breeding projects.
- Maintain research facilities and operations inside and outside company locations in complete compliance with CORTEVA safety standards.
- Maintain and improve daily operations to keep work efficient.
Requisitos
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy or related field; M.Sc. or PhD in genetics, plant breeding, molecular biology or related field.
- 2 to 4 years experience in plant breeding activities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to delegate responsibilities.
- Ability to work with variable groups and teams.
- Good leadership abilities.
- Advanced English is mandatory.
- Computer systems (including Windows applications).
- Field experience in preparing, planting, conducting experiments and taking data, using modern data collection devices.
- Knowledge on genetics, plant breeding, statistics, biotechnology, molecular analysis and predictions.
- Knowledge on statistical software (R).
- Ability to analyze phenotypic and genotypic data.
- Knowledge of agronomic related activities, such as field equipment and plant physiology.
- Available for traveling.
- Driver license, category B.
