Responsabilities

• Create, monitor and direct the integrated pest management strategy for the field and greenhouses; Promote the use of innovative tools and biological control strategies; Ensure and develop best practices related to chemical spraying technology;
• Work with a team of Research Assistants and Associates; Plan and guarantee the governance of seasonal workers. Ensure that feedback, critical conversations and coaching are happening at all levels of the organization. Develops the performance enhancement plan, documents performance, provides performance feedback;
• Resolves problems, mediates conflicts encountered during daily operations, determines appropriate solutions, and promotes teamwork. Supervision of Plant Health activities and practices planning, strategy and execution, guarantees execution of volunteer plants monitoring, defines planning for integrated weed control;
• Partnership internally at the site with other teams to build corn and soy IPM planning, ensuring strategy and execution on time;
• Support all Brazil Breeding programs, Supply Chain and Trait Introgression demands with regards to ensure seed deliveries & quality;
• Provide technical leadership for Plant Health team in Brazil and guarantee an environment for individuals to innovate, develop and succeed;
• Ensure preventive maintenance alignment and scheduling of all field spraying equipment, including organization and supervision; Create and follow-up purchase demands of inputs, chemicals, supplies and spare parts; Planning, monitoring and adaptation to the annual budget;
• Contributes to the Agronomics lead driving field operational excellence and maximum exploitation of productive potential in greenhouses, seeking for maximized seed return;
• Representation on Global Forums/Projects, Production Meetings, Season Reviews and Field Tours;
• Drives analytics & management through metrics to improve operations; Guarantees the Quality & SSHE (people safety) requirements, performs safety & regulatory compliance inspections, assist in providing appropriate training and guidance to field personnel;
• Create, monitor and ensure the correct flow of people in greenhouses, aiming to inhibit the flow of pests and meet biosecurity requirements.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Master’s degree in agronomy, plant Health, Mechanization, Phytopatology, Entomology;
• Strong and several years of significant field management experience in an agricultural-related position;
• Ability to embrace new technologies to enhance process improvements & demonstrate analytical problem solving abilities;
• Experience working with people from various backgrounds and ability to collaborate effectively in interdisciplinary teams;
• Intermediary English and fluent Portuguese;
• Driver’s license B;
• Valid CREA credential.
