YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Your experiments will contribute to effectively monitoring the impact of ERW on the soils mineralogy, biota. Your key goal will be to co-create a robust and reliable methodology to measure carbon removal through enhanced rock weathering in tropical soils. You will also be responsible to iteratively improve our experiments for world-class simulation, monitoring and verification of ERW. You will be a key player in our world-class science team and cooperate with global leaders of various universities and research initiatives. To fulfil this role you’ll bring a combination of top-notch science expertise, precision, focus, hands-on mentality, positive energy and the ability to drive things forward.

The most ideal candidate has experience with 1. biology/microbiology of tropical soils, 2. agronomic experiments, 3. rock powder/mineralogy and 4. statistics/data handling. KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • You generate, analyse and interpret data about soils, rocks, crops and climate
  • You compare, present and discuss data internally with our (science) team as well as with leading researchers globally
  • You have experience with ensuring data quality and working with larger datasets
  • You deep dive into every detail related to the science of ERW in tropical agriculture
  • You co-create new experiments to drive qualitative and quantitative data collection to validate carbon removal through ERW
  • You are skilled with setting up new experiments and manage them from start to end
  • You are experienced with field work and know how to do professional sampling
    You are passionate about solving Climate Change and Carbon Removal
  • You are independent, confident, hands-on, a go-getter, full of energy and possess an exceptional drive
  • You are a fast learner and want to steadily improve your professional and personal skill set
  • You can break down complex problems and present them in a clear and concise way
  • You have a PhD or minimum a master’s degree in Soil Science, Agronomy, Earth Science, Biogeochemistry or related field
  • You have basic knowledge of geology, weathering processes in tropical soils
  • You are fluent in Portuguese
  • English is required to a level to present and discuss research and activities with an international team (advanced)
  • You are based in Piracicaba (SP) or happy to relocate
